We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of the planetarium at the brand-new “Mokslo sala” Science Island in Kaunas, Lithuania!
This ambitious project, the result of months of dedicated effort, marks a significant milestone for the city and for science enthusiasts worldwide.
Located within an innovative and futuristic Science Island, the Mokslo sala planetarium is the first of its kind in Lithuania, as well as being the only operational facility of its nature in the country.
Under an impressive 11-meter dome, visitors are invited on a cosmic journey through the wonders of the Solar System, real-time views from space observatories, and a majestic projections that bring the universe to life.
We are deeply honored to have played a role in this extraordinary project alongside our colleagues from Evans & Sutherland and GOTO Inc..
We installed the cutting-edge Digistar system, seamlessly integrated with the GOTO Aetherios starball – a state-of-the-art opto-mechanical projector delivering unparalleled astronomical precision and breathtaking visuals.
Complementing this, the H.A.L.O. lighting control system and i-DOME interactive system were incorporated to ensure an exceptional and immersive environment for all visitors.
Beyond the planetarium, Mokslo sala offers 140 interactive exhibits that explore topics ranging from human anatomy and health to sustainability and energy innovation. Its architecture is equally stunning, featuring a 250-tonne floating disc suspended on a single beam – an engineering marvel that adds to the center’s futuristic appeal.
Mokslo sala is more than just a new attraction; it’s a space where science, creativity, and curiosity converge to inspire minds of all ages.
We are truly honored to have contributed to this incredible achievement and to have been present at the spectacular Opening.
